Friend Cheer Up!

One of my best buddies just had to have her gall bladder removed.  So, I thought I would make her something to cheer her up.  She is in a group of lady that are "Pirates".  Her nickname is Pirate Princess, so this is what I made.  The lettering is a combo of Once Upon a Princess and Happy Hauntings.  The pirate is put together from a pack that I bought that is made by PaperWiz. The frame came from Walmart.

Circle Project

Here is the finshed project.  Guess what no blue diamonds.  This is the finished project.  It is a table centerpiece for St. Patricks Day.  It will look great on my table with the corned beef and cabbage that will be in the crockpot on St Pattys Day.

Circle Meeting

To say that my first circle meeting was exciting is an understatement.  As everyone knows, yesterday was a very stormy day.  Mother Nature tried to crash our party, but we didnt let her in.  Besides, she is not in the circle. She probably has a Silhouette Cameo LOL.  We even hid in the hallway for about 30 minutes so she could not find us.  Besides the weather, I had a blast.  The people are amazing and so tallented.  I love the store Archivers.  I really wish we had one in East Tennessee.  The people were so nice, helpful, and very concerned about making sure that we were safe.  The meeting was 162 miles from my house.  I would gladly drive it again to go to another meeting.  There was about 30 of us there.  We exchanged calling cards and I won $25 dollars from ProvoCraft.  I am so exciting, already know what I am going to get.  To top the night off, Archivers had the blade refills for my YourStory paper cutter.  I could have turned cartwheels.  Well, now they are out.  I bought all they had on the shelf.  Then on the way home, which took 4 hours due to the weather, I got a Cricut Lite on clearance at Walmart for $20.  It was so neat to meet people that I have seen on the messageboards and followed.  It was kind of like meeting the superstars of the "Hollywood" world, but in the Cricut World. Talk about tallent.  Some of the stuff I saw was great.  People bringing there machines. One girl absolutely amazing me, she brought her Imagine.   We did a make and take from Archivers and one from Provocraft.  I didnt get that that one completely finished. I needed to wait till I got home.  I will post pics of it tomorrow.  Here are some pics from the crop.
Here is the Archivers in Marietta, GA.

Here is the calling cards that I traded for.

Here I am at my first circle meeting.

Here is everyone hiding in the hall from Mother Nature.
Here is my make n take in pieces.  The finished project pic to come later.
What could this possibly be, huh, box of salt, green cloves, anybody seen any blue diamonds?
Will post finished project later.
And finally get to pay attention to the wonderful lady in the Circle that fought Mother Nature to play with paper and glue.
Keep crafting.

Forgotten Project

I do not know how I forgot to post about something I made for two special people.  It took a look of work.  I had an alignment problem with the lids.  Anyway, back in February my cousin's wife and I went to Indianapolis to spend a few days with her family.  We stayed at her sister's home.  Well, the sister's next door neighbor is the sweetest lady ever.  Her name is Willa.  She is an amazing artist.  So, my cousin's wife, Mary and I let her teach us how to paint a picture of mountains with water and snow.  It was like a Bob Ross thing.  Like I said, she is amazing.  I wanted to make her and Mary something to remember it by, so project.  I took some pics and made an explosion box.  I went to Walmart and bought one of the little packs that has mini canvases and easels.  Took a picture and modge podged it onto the canvas to let it have the textured look.  Then put pockets on the sides of the box and put tags inside with more pics.  Then on the last side is the day and info about what we were doing.  The center is the easel.  I do use a sticker pack from Essentials for the paint packs.  How you like them.  I know you are thinking, what does Joelene's picture look like, well, you will just have to get to the end of this post to see.

Boxes:

And when Mary went to open it and it exploded.  She actually jumped. It was great.

Here is a close up of the insides.

Mary has hers, but Willa does not, so no one tell ok!

AND Finally, My ART Masterpiece.
Yes, I did it all myself.
Oh, the file for the explosion box used George.  It was a file that I downloaded off the internet a long time ago.  I am sorry that I do not remember from where or who.

So Excited, Circle Here I Come

I am getting ready to go to my first Provo Craft Circle meeting.  On March 2nd, I am going to the meeting in Marietta Ga.  I cannot wait.  I am so excited.  I will post some pics and what we do when I get back.  I have been working hard on my calling card.  Who knew that it was so hard to design and make something that is only 3 inches x 3 inches.  I went through several designs, but finally, I think came up with a cool one.  When you think about East Tennessee, I first think of mountains.  Tried mountains, and at 3 inches did not look right.  I then thought, want is the one think that is everywhere in East Tennessee.  UT Football.  My first thought was to use Everyday Paper Dolls and make a cheerleader and dress her in orange.  Well, didnt really like her either.  So, my finally idea, I know tell it already, was a UT logo and football, with of course a cricut circle with some bling.  Hope you like.

Here is the front.
Here is the back.

Well how did I do?

Christmas Card Designs

I was trying this year to make my cards look special.  I wanted to do something new, so I finally learned, sort of, to use my heat embosser to gold emboss the great stamp saying that I found for my inside message.  I did a few different designs on the front of my cards, but only really two insides.
Here are the fronts:

Here is to a late but Happy 2012!
